Hose assembly: 7 tips for quick hose assembly

We from Goodall understand that a satisfactory performance and appearance depends upon a proper hose installation. Faulty installation can result in poor power transmission and a shortage of the hose's lifespan. Always keep in mind that the length of the hose should not be too excessive. This can destroy the trim appearance and adds up to the costs of contraction.

By following the 7 steps below you assure that your hose is assembled correctly and lasts longer in an excellent condition.

7 tips to assemble your hose

With just a few simple tricks your hose will last longer and you will assemble them flawlessly.

  1. Let the hose hang loosely. When the pressure increases, so will the length. When you assemble the hose too tight, there is no room for expansion.
  2. Avoid at all times a sharp twist or bend in the hose. Do you have no choice? Then use a proper angle adapter.
  3. Do not clamp (high or low) your hose at bends. Curves will not absorb changes like hoses do when they are under pressure.
  4. Provide adequate hose length to distribute movement on flexing applications and to avoid abrasion.
  5. Prevent twisting and distortion in hose lines. You can do this by bending the hose in two planes, clamping the hose at change of plane (against twisting), or bending the whole hose into the same plane. Make sure that the endings of the hose stand upright without a nod.
  6. Use an angle adapter when you have a slight bend in the hose. This way - when the radius falls below the required minimum - sharp bends will be avoided.
  7. Obtain direct routing. For this you can use  450 or 900 adapters and fitting to improve appearance by avoiding excessive hose length.
